I believe we learn everyday. Every where we go and everything we do presents an opportunity to learn something new. This truth extends to our school-age students. Imagine a trip to Yellowstone National Park – there are connections to be made to science (geothermal energy), social studies (how wildlife effects the land; how tourism drives the economic development of nearby towns), math (do you know how many volumes of water spews out of Old Faithful during an eruption and how big your backyard pool would need to be to hold it?).
Will’s LOVE curriculum (Learning while On Vacation or Excursions) can help parents engage students in learning opportunities as well as help teachers and schools make field trips more meaningful.
